Cynthia Overton
Cynthia Overton, Ph.D., is the Senior Director of Tech Workplace Initiatives at the Kapor Center. In this role, she supports DEIB leaders working to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the tech industry. She recently launched the Kapor Center’s DEIB certificate program for members of the Diversity Advocates. In addition to her work at the Kapor Center, Cynthia is a member of several DAO and NFT communities focused on Web3 onboarding. Cynthia holds a BA in English from Hampton University, masters and doctorate degrees in learning technologies from the University of Michigan, and a masters degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University. She also earned certificates from Cornell University’s Diversity and Inclusion program, Everyrealm’s Realm Academy Metaverse Education Program, and California State University, Northridge Center on Disabilities Assistive Technology Applications Program.
DEIB and Web3 Building Blocks
This module will start off with an intro to Web3 and related terminology. Then the conversation shifts to Web3 building blocks and what they mean for our work as DEIB professionals.
